The group is made up of seasoned veterans who have come together to enjoy bluegrass music and friendship.

They play a collection of traditional bluegrass standards, new-grass, Americana, folk, Celtic, and original compositions.  Every concert is different, as they often improvise the set to follow the mood of their audience.  It makes for a fun and dynamic show!

Angela De Venuto

Soprano/Actress/Smile Enthusiast

Saturday, May 6, 2017 7:00pm

Angela De Venuto’s vibrant soprano, magnetic stage presence, and infectious verve has led her to perform in a variety of venues from opera houses, and concert halls to maximum-security prisons.

Angela’s oratorio experience includes soprano soloist for Vivaldi’s Gloria, and excerpts of Fauré’s Requiem. A prolific recitalist, Angela has performed composers such as Respighi, Chausson, Dowland, Barber, Libby Larsen, and Previn. She also occasionally performs throughout the country with composer and pianist Eric Genuis as part of The Eric Genuis Quartet.

Angela finds joy in sharing music and helping others find contentness in their lives in various ways. As a smile-enthusiast, Angela has found ways to combine differing assets of her life that have brought her to find balance and what seems to be a forever full stash of toothy grins. One way she often collaborates with her skill sets is through music and yoga. Angela began her yoga journey about eight years ago. She attributes much of her happiness, stress management skills, strength, both physical and mental, and some of her musicality to her yoga practice. In some circles she is known as "the singing-yogi" as she sometimes performs art song while flowing through a yoga sequence; a fully immersive way of connecting body to voice. She and her friends from the Liederstube-Chicago Chapter, have named this "YogaStube".
